Jeegar Kakkad from Public First gave a fascinating insight into public perceptions of rising threats at our Resilience Imperative launch last week, based on polling of 2,000 people. Key findings:
57% see the USA as a threat after Russia, Iran, North Korea, China and Israel
40% believe the UK will be at war within five years, underscoring public
concern about global stability
55% believe UK is poorly prepared for war both militarily and in terms of
public engagement
Only 30% are confident in the UK’s ability to defend itself
Only 40% of citizens would feel compelled to act
Almost 70% doubt their ability to cope in a conflict
